Abstract:With the large scale, long construction period and complex structure of mega-hydropower projects, it is unrealistic for the EPC contractor to accomplish all the construction tasks of the project solely, necessitating the introduction of subcontractors. Due to the uneven quality and ability of different construction teams, strict selection of the subcontractors and effective managing on the subcontracting project is required to control the risks on project safety, quality, and progress. In view of this, Kala Hydropower Station implements EPC general contracting and the supervisor takes standardized management on the whole process of subcontracting, such as planning, approval, process supervision and final evaluation, which ensures the baseline quality of subcontractors and smooth implementation of subcontracting projects.
